Triongl

Curated by Griff Lynch

TRIONGL was developed and created during Lockdown and the pandemic. TRIONGL’s aim was to offer a new project to freelance workers during this challenging time, a time that has seen our theatres and venues close for months and many people losing work over night. Even though Pontio’s doors had to close to the public, we were eager to support the freelancers of the artistic sector through alternative ways. The culmination of TRIONGL is ready for you to enjoy over the coming months.

There are three digital projects to TRIONGL, with various genres and artists of all kinds working together.

Music

Casi Wyn, originally from Bangor, joins Seindorf – a band with their roots firmly planted in the traditions of Snowdonia’s brass bands, that combine genres to bring you an engeretic and memorable performance. They come together to present an original song by Casi and Owain Roberts, through a music video directed by Griff Lynch, that leads you into Theatr Bryn Terfel in Pontio. The music video was released by LWP S4C over Christmas, with Casi leading the viewers to our theatre. We hope that we can bring you back to our wonderful theatre soon....

Junko x Kristina x Sïan x Simmy

Art

Internationally renowned artist, Junko Mori, originally from Japan, who now lives in Tudweiliog, has teamed up with photographer Kristina Banholzer and animator Sïan Angharad, as well as violinist and composer, Simmy Singh to produce a short video on Junko’s work process.

Filmed in the Shed, Y Felinheli, as well as Junko Mori’s studio in Tudweiliog, by Kristina and Sïan this short video shows Mori’s water colouring process as well as her forging process, and incorporates the hammering noises into the music, composed by composer and violinist Simmy Singh, creating a truly unique short film.

The video was released on World Art Day on YouTube and the AM app and website amam.cymru/pontio, you can watch the final work below!
