Information

Following her sell-out 2025 run at the Edinburgh Fringe, writer and multi-disciplinary rebel Leila Navabi’s presents Relay.

Taking the audience for an autobiographical whirlwind of a ride; Leila uses punk-rock, stand up and gloriously funny animation to explain how she and her partner attempted to make a baby at home with their gay best friend’s sperm - just months after being told that she was ‘likely infertile’ at 24 years old.

The piece is an ode to the alternative, an exploration of chosen family and a celebration for Queer communities. Through this punk-rock musical comedy Leila delves into love, inequality, ambition and perhaps most importantly of all, the joy and chaos that comes from building a family on your own terms.

The work is being supported by TEAM Collective Cymru with funding and support from Arts Council Wales.
