AR LOG CELEBRATE THEIR 50th ANNIVERSARY
2026 is a very special year for Ar Log. It’s highly unlikely that anyone would have imagined that the group would be celebrating its 50th anniversary when the band was formed back in 1976 at the Celtic Festival in Lorient, Brittany. But, following that first concert, on the advice of The Dubliners, the band has by now, performed throughout Europe, and North and South America promoting Welsh traditional music and songs.
In order to celebrate this milestone Ar Log is organising a tour of Wales and Germany, and releasing a new album, Ar Log VIII, early in the New Year. A number of special guests will appear on the tour with Ar Log, Dafydd Iwan will join them one last time for a special performance, along with Stephen Rees and Lowri Evans & Lee Mason. The partnership between the band and Dafydd Iwan was responsible for the recording that has by now become Wales’ second anthem, ‘Yma o Hyd’!
